The commissioners of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted inspections at 493 real estate developers, identifying irregularities at 216 of them. The main violations found were related to non-compliance with the minimum usable areas for apartments, as well as incomplete information provided to consumers regarding sales contracts.
Following these inspections, ANPC imposed 166 fines totaling nearly 979,200 lei, and withdrew 3,055 housing units from sale that did not meet legal requirements. Additionally, financial compensation measures for consumers were ordered. ANPC recommends that consumers check important aspects before signing a pre-contract, including construction authorization and contractual clauses.
