Between October 20-24, the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted nationwide inspections, checking over 1,900 economic operators. As a result of these inspections, numerous irregularities were found, including expired food products and services provided in unauthorized spaces. ANPC imposed 1,354 fines, totaling approximately 6.83 million lei, and permanently removed non-compliant products worth over 220,000 lei from sale.
The activity of 34 operators was temporarily suspended until the deficiencies are remedied. Among the main non-compliances are the lack of periodic checks for equipment, the use of worn utensils, non-compliance with storage temperatures, and the lack of correct information for consumers.
