The commissioners of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) decided to temporarily close a bakery in Bucharest after a consumer filmed a rat walking among the bakery products. As a result of this incident, the ANPC took notice and conducted an operational control, finding several non-compliances.

The bakery was fined with two penalties totaling 12,000 lei, and 85 kilograms of products were withdrawn from sale. Inspectors discovered that the means of transport were not sanitized, and the products were improperly stored. The production area was unsanitized, with damaged work tables and accumulations of food waste. The ANPC suspended the provision of services until the identified deficiencies are remedied.
