The commissioners of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted inspections from December 2 to 5, checking over 1600 economic operators across the country. As a result of these inspections, 839 fines were imposed, totaling approximately 4.23 million lei.
Among the irregularities found were the sale of expired food products, the use of oil with a high degree of thermal degradation, and worn-out equipment. Additionally, 13 economic operators had their activities temporarily suspended until the deficiencies were remedied. Other non-compliances included the lack of price displays and necessary information for consumers, as well as the sale of toys without mandatory warnings. ANPC continues to monitor the market to protect consumer rights.
