Between November 17-21, the commissioners of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) conducted inspections at the national level, checking approximately 1,700 economic operators. As a result of these checks, 1,114 fines were imposed, totaling over 5.63 million lei. Additionally, products worth over 300,000 lei were permanently removed from sale, and the activity of five economic operators was temporarily suspended.
The main irregularities found include the lack of correct information for consumers, especially regarding toys and festive decorations, where labels were not translated into Romanian or essential information was missing. Additionally, unclean spaces were found, food products with altered thermal conditions, and improperly stored medications. ANPC announced that these inspections will continue to ensure consumer safety.
