On September 1, at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest, Angela Merkel, former Chancellor of Germany, will launch her volume 'Freedom. Memories 1954 - 2021', starting at 7:00 PM. The event will be moderated by journalist and diplomat Emil Hurezeanu.

Tickets are available through Eventbook and include a copy of the book, with the option to purchase a signed ticket, in limited numbers. The book offers a unique perspective on Angela Merkel's life, spanning between the German Democratic Republic and reunified Germany, addressing themes such as the fall of the Berlin Wall and her political beginnings.

The audience will have the opportunity to learn about the decisions that have influenced recent history, in a volume to be launched internationally in 2024, in over 30 countries. Bucharest is one of the few destinations chosen by Merkel to be present in person at the launch.
