Deputy Andreea-Petronela Cîmpianu, elected to Parliament on the S.O.S. România lists, has announced that she will continue her work in the parliamentary group of the National Liberal Party, starting on September 14, 2026. The Standing Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies took note of the information submitted by the lawmaker during Wednesday’s meeting.
Cîmpianu notified the leadership of the Chamber of Deputies that she wished to serve as a deputy in the PNL group. The decision comes after she left the S.O.S. România parliamentary group on June 30 and became an unaffiliated deputy.
The lawmaker was elected in Electoral Constituency No. 43, designated for Romanian citizens domiciled abroad. During her time in the S.O.S. România group, Cîmpianu served as deputy leader and was vice chairwoman of the Committee for Equal Opportunities for Women and Men.
By joining the PNL group, the deputy is entering a new political phase in the current legislature, following her election on the S.O.S. România lists and the period during which she served as unaffiliated. Her parliamentary election and mandate remain unchanged, as she continues to represent the constituency for Romanians abroad.
