The National Administration 'Apele Române' (ANAR) has announced the start of urgent works at the Voila Clean Water Basin, essential for supplying drinking water in Prahova County. These interventions aim to stabilize and seal the basin, as well as repair the supply pipeline, following issues that arose after the water crisis at the Paltinu reservoir. The works, carried out in collaboration with the Prahova Regional System Exploitation, were approved by the Prahova County Emergency Situations Committee.
ANAR teams conducted a preliminary inspection and began interventions, which include the removal of sediments and covering the affected areas with bentonite geomembrane. Additionally, a temporary by-pass will be constructed over a distance of 200 meters for the supply pipeline. The Voila basin, with a capacity of 200-250 thousand cubic meters, is crucial for water treatment in cases of increased turbidity. The works are scheduled to be completed by January 15, 2026. ANAR continuously monitors the situation and ensures the supply of drinking water for all localities in Prahova.
