ANAF has seized assets of CFR Marfă valued at 2.99 billion lei, including 13,068 freight cars and 614 locomotives. These assets must be identified and photographed before being listed on the online auction platform, and ANAF has mobilized tax structures to facilitate this process.
ANAF's rush to sell the assets is related to the bankruptcy request of CFR Marfă, which has debts of approximately 1.33 billion lei to the state.
The sale of the assets is considered essential for recovering the debts, and ANAF is analyzing the modification of auction deadlines to accelerate the process. CFR Marfă, a strategic company for transport, has accumulated huge debts, and previous state aid has been declared incompatible with the internal market by the European Commission.
This sale represents one of the largest actions for the liquidation of seized assets of a state company in Romania.
