The president of ANAF, Adrian Nica, stated that the institution will continue legal efforts to recover damages from Klaus Iohannis, related to the lack of use of half of a property in Sibiu. The court recently rejected the request to impose a precautionary seizure on the Iohannis family's assets, but ANAF will act in accordance with standard legal procedures to recover the amounts owed. Nica mentioned that ANAF was not surprised by the court's decision, but did not expect it. The Romanian state has requested damages of 4.7 million lei, and ANAF has taken co-ownership of the property, considering that the Iohannis family refused voluntary payment. The former presidential couple earned significant income from rents for this property between 1999 and 2016.
