An Albanian citizen was caught at Otopeni Airport with 22 kg of cannabis, transported in 49 vacuum-sealed bags.

A 35-year-old Albanian man was arrested by DIICOT prosecutors at Otopeni Airport after attempting to introduce 22 kilograms of cannabis into Romania. The drugs were packed in 49 vacuum-sealed bags and hidden in a trolley, being transported on a flight from Athens to Bucharest. Border police caught him in the act, and now the man is being investigated for international drug trafficking. The judge for rights and liberties at the Bucharest Tribunal has been notified of the proposal for the defendant's preventive arrest for 30 days.
