Adrian Țuțuianu, the president of the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), stated that organizing early parliamentary elections would be difficult to achieve under the current legislation. In the event of the dissolution of Parliament, it would be necessary to adopt an emergency ordinance and at least five government decisions, which could violate transparency rules.

Țuțuianu emphasized that the current law is designed for regular elections, and the deadlines for an early vote would need to be significantly shortened, which could affect the right to vote, especially for Romanians abroad.

He also mentioned that AEP will propose a chapter dedicated to early elections in the future Electoral Code.

According to the Constitution, elections must be organized within a maximum of three months from the dissolution of Parliament.

Nicușor Dan, the president of Romania, expressed his desire to avoid early elections, believing that they would not bring significant changes and would create instability.
