The President of the Permanent Electoral Authority, Adrian Ţuţuianu, stated that there are 35 administrative-territorial units where elections should be organized as a result of mayors’ mandates ending before their term and specified that another six or seven localities could be added after the courts rule on the appeals filed by mayors.
"At this moment, we have a list of 35 administrative-territorial units where elections should be organized, and there are another six or seven administrative-territorial units where elections will probably have to be organized after the administrative litigation courts resolve the appeals filed by the mayors whose mandates ended under the law on conflicts of interest and incompatibilities.
Therefore, once the courts have resolved them through final rulings, elections will also have to be organized in these localities," stated Adrian Ţuţuianu.
