RetuRO, the administrator of the Warranty-Return System in Romania, has announced the appointment of Adela Smeu as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), starting from March 19, 2026. With over 25 years of experience in multinational organizations, Smeu recently led Brico Dépôt Romania, managing a company with revenues of over 300 million euros and 2,000 employees. Her experience includes complex transformations, mergers, and strategic initiatives, being a graduate of prestigious programs such as those at Stanford University and IMD Business School.
RetuRO aims to improve operational efficiency and achieve collection targets for 2026, contributing to the circular economy and environmental protection. Adela Smeu stated that she is excited to join the RetuRO team, emphasizing the importance of this transformational challenge. The company operates on a not-for-profit basis, reinvesting profits into the development of the warranty-return system, with the goal of responsibly managing packaging waste and achieving the recycling targets set by the European Union.
