Before the action on November 5, the Romanian Police also carried out other phases of the “JUPITER” operations, with searches in Bucharest and across the country. In “Jupiter 6,” investigators conducted, in stages, hundreds of home searches and summonses, while the investigations also targeted offenses such as tax evasion, smuggling, money laundering, corruption, forgery, and violations of the firearms and ammunition regulations, in addition to theft and sexual offenses against minors.
Separately, previously, police officers also carried out searches in pimping cases disguised as a “massage parlor”: a 34-year-old woman was detained for 24 hours in a case coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the District 6 Court, and as a result of the searches, more than 185,300 lei were seized, the origin of which could not be justified.
