On Sunday morning at 6:29, a surface earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 was recorded in Gorj county, Oltenia, at a depth of 13.8 kilometers. The quake was located 18 km northwest of Târgu Jiu and affected nearby areas, including Drobeta-Turnu Severin and Râmnicu Vâlcea. In July, Romania recorded three earthquakes, with the largest this year measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale. Last year, the most significant quake was 5.4 in Buzău.
