A 25-year-old man was found hanged in the IPJ Galați detention center. He had been arrested for robbery after attacking a delivery driver of alcoholic beverages.

On November 11, 2025, a police officer from the Galati Center for Rehabilitation and Preventive Detention discovered a 25-year-old man hanged in his room, using a hoodie. About 50 minutes earlier, the police had spoken with him about a shopping request. Although medical personnel intervened, the man was pronounced dead. The investigation was taken over by the Galati Criminal Investigation Service, under the coordination of a prosecutor. The young man had recently been arrested for robbery after attacking a beverage delivery person, using a knife and stealing a package of drinks, and had been hiding under another identity. The Galati Court ordered his preventive detention for 30 days.
