On the second day of Easter, a fire broke out in an apartment on Calea Văcărești, Sector 4, and crews from the Police and the Emergency Situations Inspectorate intervened at the scene. The fire was extinguished without major damage, but inside, 25 small and medium-sized dogs were found in unsanitary conditions, without water and food.

The police from the Animal Protection Service issued orders for placement in a shelter, and ASPA teams took over the dogs. At the shelter, it was found that all were microchipped, but had various health issues. The owner, who had adopted dogs from shelters, was taken for a psychiatric evaluation after refusing access to the intervention teams. The gas was turned off in the stairwell, and further checks will depend on the access of technicians to the apartments.
