An animal shelter in the village of Oșlobeni, Neamț County, was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out on the night of Thursday to Friday, October 2. Firefighters were alerted by a 112 emergency call and intervened to extinguish the blaze, which threatened to spread to a nearby home.
When the Neamț Emergency Situations Inspectorate crews arrived, the fire had engulfed the entire structure, which covered approximately 70 square meters. The building served several purposes: an animal shelter, a fodder storage facility and a shed.
Firefighters managed to contain the spread of the flames and extinguish the fire, but the structure burned down completely. Inside were approximately 1.5 tonnes of fodder, 11 cubic meters of firewood, household goods, three bicycles and 10 birds.
According to the firefighters’ initial checks, the fire may have been deliberately set. Investigations will determine the exact circumstances in which the fire started and the damage caused.
