19-year-old driver, pursued on the A2 after driving drunk and ignoring the police, caught with the help of a helicopter

A 19-year-old from Bucharest was caught driving under the influence of alcohol on the A2 highway, on his way to Vama Veche. The police in Medgidia were alerted via a 112 call about a car driving erratically.

At kilometer 193, the road crews attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver ignored the signals, continuing to drive at high speed. Following this situation, a chase was initiated, which also involved a helicopter from the General Inspectorate of Aviation, providing real-time information about the fugitive's position. The vehicle was immobilized at kilometer 196, and the young man was tested with a breathalyzer, the result being 0.53 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. He was transported to the hospital for biological sample collection, and a criminal case was opened for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
