An 11-year-old girl from Baia Mare has been hospitalized in the County Emergency Hospital in a state of severe malnutrition, weighing only 20 kilograms. Adopted at the age of three, the girl will be placed in the care of a foster parent, according to a presidential ordinance issued by the court.
The spokesperson for the General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection (DGASPC) Maramureș, Adrian Mândru, stated that the girl is receiving medical care and will be taken over by the foster parent after discharge. Following her hospitalization, signs of physical abuse were found, and DGASPC has reported the case to the police, with the case being taken over by the Prosecutor's Office next to the Maramureș Tribunal for investigation. DGASPC is collaborating with the relevant institutions to ensure the protection and rights of the girl.
