The American heavy metal band Slipknot has confirmed the separation from DJ and keyboardist Sid Wilson, after nearly three decades of collaboration.
The announcement was made on Friday on the band's official website, but was later deleted, remaining available on the Knotfest Instagram account. Slipknot stated: "Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson. We wish him all the best in his future projects."
Wilson joined the band in 1998, before they became internationally known with their debut album in 1999. Throughout their career, Slipknot has had six albums in the Top 10 Billboard 200 and won a Grammy Award in 2006. Wilson's departure had been anticipated by speculation in the press, and the recent message represents the first official confirmation of the separation.
The band's most recent album, "The End, So Far", was released in 2022.
