Rick Moranis, the beloved Canadian actor, has announced his return to acting after a 30-year hiatus, set to star in 'Spaceballs 2', the sequel to the 1987 sci-fi parody created by Mel Brooks. Moranis, known for his roles in 'Ghostbusters' and 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids', appeared at CinemaCon to promote the film, where he will reprise his role as Dark Helmet. After the death of his wife in 1991, Moranis decided to step back from the industry to focus on raising his children. In the new film, which will be released on April 23, 2027, Moranis will be joined by Mel Brooks and the rest of the original cast, including George Wyner and Daphne Zuniga. The sequel will parody popular franchises such as 'Star Wars' and 'Harry Potter', and details about the plot remain under wraps. 'Spaceballs' has become a cult film over the years, appreciated for its humor and influence in the parody comedy genre.
