The masterpiece 'La Blouse Roumaine' by Henri Matisse, part of the Centre Pompidou collection in Paris, will leave France for the first time, being loaned for the exhibition 'Romania - the identity representation of traditional costume in art.' This will take place at the National Museum of Art of Romania between November 21, 2025, and February 8, 2026, and will include over 320 pieces, highlighting the diversity and symbolism of the Romanian blouse in various artistic forms. The exhibition will explore the cultural and commercial impact of the blouse, including its uses in international fashion. It will also contextualize the Romanian traditional costume in relation to other cultures in the region, offering a reflection on national identity and artistic evolution. This event is not a support for any ideologies, but a celebration of the richness of Romanian artistic tradition.
