King Charles III and the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, will visit the exhibition on Wednesday that hosts the Bayeux Tapestry, an almost 1,000-year-old embroidery illustrating the conquest of England by William I in 1066. The tapestry has been loaned from the French government and is displayed at the British Museum, having been brought to the United Kingdom for the first time since its creation.

The interest in the exhibition has been extremely high, and tickets sold out quickly, generating significant revenue. The King and Macron, along with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham, will explore key moments of the tapestry, including the coronation of Harold Godwinson. The loan of the tapestry, confirmed in July 2025, symbolizes the strengthening of post-Brexit Franco-British relations. The exhibition will be open to the public from September 10 until July next year.
