American actor John Travolta will make his directorial debut at the age of 72 with the film 'Propeller One-Way Night Coach', which will have its world premiere in May at the Cannes Film Festival, according to the organizers' announcement. The film is an adaptation of the book of the same title, published by Travolta in 1997, and tells the story of a boy and his mother on a plane journey, inspired by the actor's passion for aviation.
Travolta started flying at 15 and obtained his first pilot's license at 22. His daughter, Ella Bleu, is part of the cast, playing the role of a flight attendant. The film will be available on Apple TV on May 29, after the Cannes premiere. Travolta is known for iconic roles in films such as 'Saturday Night Fever' and 'Grease', and 'Pulp Fiction', in which he starred, won the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1994.
This year's festival will take place from May 12 to 23.
