This year's edition of the National Selection for Eurovision includes 101 songs, and the pre-selection will take place on February 5, with the announcement of the semifinalists on February 6.
The registration campaign recently ended, giving composers nearly three weeks to participate. The second stage, called 'Eurovision 2026 Open Workshop', will allow competitors to perform the songs live in front of the jury, and the broadcast will be available online. On February 12, the ten finalists will be announced, and the Grand Final will take place on March 4, with a live show broadcast by TVR.
For the first time, the final will include performances in Romanian Sign Language (LSR).
Romania will compete in semifinal number 2 on May 14, 2026, in Vienna, alongside 34 other countries. Eurovision 2026 will take place under the slogan 'United by Music', with the final scheduled for May 16.
