Britney Spears was arrested in March in California for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police documents. An investigation report showed that the artist was driving erratically on U.S. 101, having difficulty responding to police commands. Upon stopping, officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol coming from the vehicle. Spears had a tense conversation with the police, refusing to get out of the car and offering the officers to cook for them. When she exited, she showed signs of instability and had rapid and unclear speech. Although she stated that she had consumed a mimosa six hours earlier, Breathalyzer tests showed an alcohol level of 0.06% and 0.05%. Spears was released the next day and pleaded guilty to reckless driving, receiving 12 months of probation. Her representatives called the incident "unfortunate" and "completely unacceptable."
