Barack and Michelle Obama make their Broadway debut as producers

The former president of the USA, Barack Obama, and former first lady, Michelle Obama, are making their debut as producers on Broadway with the relaunch of the play "Proof," through their production company, Higher Ground.

The play, written by David Auburn and awarded with a Tony and Pulitzer, features Don Cheadle and Ayo Edebiri, who are making their Broadway debuts. The director is Tony Award winner, Thomas Kail, and the production is done in collaboration with Mike Bosner.

The Obamas stated that they are proud to be part of this production, which addresses profound themes such as brilliance, doubt, and legacy. "Proof" will have a limited run of 16 weeks at the Booth Theatre, with its official premiere on April 16.
