On Sunday evening, during the second stage of the Tour of Spain, the Visma-Lease team suffered a significant theft, with 18 bikes stolen from the mechanics' truck. The incident took place close to the hotel where the team was staying near Turin and police have launched an investigation. Although the Movistar and Lidl-Trek teams staying in the same hotel did not suffer any losses, the Cofidis team had a similar experience in the Tour de France, but managed to recover the stolen bikes.
