Venus Williams suffered another defeat on Tuesday, losing in the first round of the ATX Open in Austin, Texas, to Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, with a score of 4-6, 1-6.

At 45 years old, Williams has a disappointing record of 0-4 this season, including a previous loss at the Australian Open against Serbian Olga Danilovic. This is the seventh consecutive singles defeat for the seven-time Grand Slam champion, starting with the matches lost last summer at Cincinnati and the US Open. In the quarterfinals, Tomljanovic will face the second seed, Iva Jovic.
