Venus Williams, 45, suffered a clear defeat in the last 16 in Washington, losing to Poland's Magdalena Frech. Williams admitted she lacked energy after four matches in the first week. However, she had a notable performance earlier, defeating Peyton Stearns. Although she hasn't won two consecutive matches in 2019, she isn't stopping and is preparing for the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati and the US Open.
