Josep Martinez, the second goalkeeper of the Italian team Internazionale Milano, was involved in a tragic accident on Tuesday morning, when he hit an 81-year-old man in a wheelchair with his car. The incident occurred in Fenegrò, in the Como area, in northern Italy, near the team's training center.

The victim, who was reportedly trying to cross the street from the opposite direction, died on the spot as a result of the violent impact. Rescue services, including a helicopter and the carabinieri, quickly arrived at the scene, but the doctors' efforts to resuscitate him were in vain. It appears that the elderly man left the bike path to cross the roadway, at which point he was struck by Martinez. Following the tragedy, the Inter club canceled the press conference scheduled for coach Cristian Chivu.
