Toto Wolff, shareholder and executive director of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team since 2013, has sold 15% of his stake to American billionaire George Kurtz, founder and CEO of CrowdStrike, for the sum of 260 million euros. This transaction takes place in the context where the team is valued at nearly 6 billion dollars.
Wolff will continue to lead the team without changes in the management structure, while Kurtz will bring his expertise as an endurance driver and entrepreneur, joining the strategic committee of Mercedes. His role will include technological advice, focused on data analysis, simulation, and artificial intelligence, essential aspects for the evolution of Formula 1.
