On Friday, December 5, the National Arena hosted the inauguration of a mural dedicated to football legends Gică Hagi and Carlos Valderrama, the leader of the Colombian team at the 1994 World Cup. The initiative was supported by the Colombian Embassy in Bucharest and commemorates the memories of Romania's victories in the confrontations with Colombia at the World Cups in 1994 and 1998. The painting, covering an area of 90 square meters, was created by Colombian artist Liliana Cuca, together with Ioana Teodorescu, and depicts the two footballers during the match in 1994. Although Gică Hagi was not physically present at the event, he sent a video message expressing his joy in celebrating memories from his youth alongside Valderrama. Other notable guests present at the inauguration included Andrei Nicolescu and Giovannii Becali.
