National Sports Barometer of Romania | Who has been/is the greatest Romanian athlete in history? "King" Gheorghe Hagi is in 2nd place

The National Barometer of Romanian Sport, conducted by INSCOP Research on behalf of FANATIK, has identified the preferences of Romanians regarding sports. Nadia Comăneci is considered the greatest athlete in the history of Romania, with 47.9% of the votes, followed by Gheorghe Hagi, with 20%. Simona Halep and Ivan Patzaichin are tied, each with 6.8%. At just 21 years old, David Popovici has made his way among these legends of Romanian sport. He is in 5th place. The Romanian swimmer was placed first by 5.2% of those who participated in the survey conducted by INSCOP Research.


Ilie Năstase was ranked first by 4.6% of Romanians. "Nasty" is a world-class legend, the first number 1 in the history of the ATP circuit. Cristina Neagu and Elisabeta Lipă were also chosen by nearly 1 in 100 of those who voted.


The survey included 1500 respondents and was conducted between October 10-21, with a margin of error of +/- 2.5%.
