Stuart Hogg, former Scottish rugby player, had his MBE title revoked by King Charles III after he acknowledged allegations of domestic abuse against his wife.

Stuart Hogg, at the age of 33, was awarded the title of Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in December 2023 for his contributions to Scottish rugby. However, this title was later revoked by King Charles III after Hogg admitted in 2024 to allegations of abusive behavior towards his then-wife, Gillian. The allegations include insults, stalking her movements, and sending aggressive messages over a period of five years. In January 2025, Hogg received a community payback order, which involves community service and a year of supervision.

Regarded as one of the most important players in Scottish rugby, Hogg surpassed 100 caps for the national team and was its captain in 2020. Although he initially retired from professional rugby in 2023, he later returned to competition, but his career was affected by a rupture of his Achilles tendon in 2025. The revocation of the MBE title is a rare action reserved for individuals convicted of acts incompatible with the values of the distinction.
