In February, British police conducted searches of the former Prince Andrew’s residences in the case linked to Jeffrey Epstein, and subsequently acknowledged in court that the warrants on the basis of which they were carried out had been improperly issued. The judge specified that the decision concerned the procedure for authorizing the searches, not the investigation as a whole, which remained ongoing, while police sought legal solutions for retaining the seized items.
Andrew challenged the arrest and the warrants in court, seeking judicial review. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced that he was examining the possibility of a public inquiry into Epstein’s activities in the United Kingdom, following discussions with victims and depending on the findings, with the government saying it was considering all options.
