FIFA has appointed the referee team for the World Cup final, which will take place on Sunday between Spain and Argentina at MetLife Stadium in New York New Jersey.
The Slovenian Slavko Vincic, a referee with extensive experience, has been chosen to officiate the match. The announcement was made by Pierluigi Collina, the head of FIFA's Referees Committee, during a meeting with the referees selected for the tournament's final matches. Vincic, at the age of 46, was emotional and burst into tears at the moment he was announced.
He has previously officiated important matches, including the 2024 Champions League final and the 2022 Europa League final. FIFA's decision is eagerly awaited both in Spain and in Argentina, considering the importance of the match.
