The Romanian women's volleyball national team announced, on Tuesday, the composition of the squad for the final tournament of the European Championship, which will take place between August 21 and September 6 in Turkey, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, and Sweden.
Under the leadership of coach Guilermo Hernandez, the tricolors will debut on Saturday, August 22, in Group C, in Baku, against the Netherlands. Before the tournament, Romania played five friendly matches, achieving mixed results: 3-1 against Ukraine, 0-3 and 2-3 against the Czech Republic, 0-3 and 3-2 against Italy.
Romania's schedule in Group C includes matches against Azerbaijan (August 24), Belgium (August 25), Portugal (August 27), and Spain (August 28). The top four teams from the group will advance to the knockout stage, which will take place in Istanbul. The defending champion is Turkey, and Romania finished in 11th place in the previous edition.
