Răzvan Burleanu has obtained a new mandate at the head of the Romanian Football Federation, winning with 258 votes against the 5 votes of his opponent, Ilie Drăgan. However, Burleanu is facing legal issues, as Drăgan initiated an action at the Bucharest Tribunal on March 23, 2026, requesting his removal from office. Displeased that he did not have the opportunity to give a speech before the vote, Drăgan, supported by the junior club 3 Kids Sport, is contesting the legality of Burleanu's candidacy for a fourth mandate. The court has set the first hearing for April 21, 2026, and Drăgan has opened two actions: one for the suspension of the elections and another for the annulment of the General Assembly.
