FIFA has announced that it has sold over one million tickets for the 2026 World Cup, a competition that will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that this interest reflects the global enthusiasm for the most ambitious and inclusive edition of the tournament.

This competition will include 48 teams and will consist of 104 matches, suggesting that the number of tickets sold will exceed previous records. In the pre-sale phase, most tickets were purchased by fans from the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and the next sales phase for the general public will begin on October 27.
