Netflix has announced that it has acquired the broadcasting rights for the 2030 FIFA World Cup in Spain and Andorra, marking another step by the streaming platform into the sports broadcasting market. Spain will host the competition alongside Portugal and Morocco, while Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay will also stage matches to mark the tournament’s centenary.
In Spain, Netflix will broadcast one match free of charge each day of the competition. The platform will also provide a free national channel that will air all matches involving the Spanish national team, including the semifinal and final. The company has not disclosed the value of the contract or the identity of the channel that will provide these broadcasts.
The agreement marks the first major men’s international tournament broadcast by Netflix in Spain. At the 2026 edition, the national team’s matches were broadcast by public broadcaster TVE, while DAZN aired all 104 matches.
In recent years, Netflix has expanded its sports portfolio, which includes broadcasts from the NFL, MLB, WWE, boxing and MMA. The platform also holds the rights to the 2027 and 2031 Women’s World Cups in the United States and Canada.
