Mihai Popa, a product of the Hagi Academy, has been permanently transferred to CFR Cluj from FC Torino, after being loaned to the Transylvanian team last season. In the 2024/2025 season, Popa played 13 matches for CFR Cluj, managing to keep a clean sheet in five of them. CFR Cluj club enthusiastically announced his return, emphasizing that this is their fourth transfer of the winter, after Alibek Aliev, Ilija Masic, and Christopher Braun. Mihai Popa has a market value of 500,000 euros, according to Transfermarkt, and will contribute to the team that started the year 2026 well with a victory against Oțelul Galați.
