Marcel Hirscher, renowned Austrian skier, announced through a video message on Instagram that he will not participate in this season's competitions, including the Olympic Games, due to his physical condition. An eight-time winner of the Crystal Globe, Hirscher explained that his current level does not allow him to compete at the necessary standards.

Returning to the circuit last year after a five-year absence, his career has been affected by severe injuries, including a serious injury to his left knee in December 2024. He also suffered a viral infection and a calf injury, which forced him to take a two-week break. Hirscher emphasizes that the decision not to compete is essential for him to be able to relaunch his career in the future.
