FIFA has announced that Madonna, Shakira, and BTS will perform during the first halftime of the World Cup final, as part of a teaser launched by Chris Martin from Coldplay and Elmo. They, along with well-known characters from the Muppet team, have selected the artists for this special event. The project will raise funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise 100 million dollars to expand access to quality education and football for children worldwide.

The World Cup final will take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, an event that attracts millions of viewers annually. In 2022, the match had over 500 million viewers, surpassing the Super Bowl. FIFA began experimenting with halftime entertainment in 2025, and the last World Cup in the USA was in 1994, being the most attended in history. Events in 2026 will start on June 11, and Fox Sports and Telemundo will broadcast the matches for the American audience.
