Louis Munteanu, the 23-year-old Romanian forward of DC United, had a remarkable performance in the MLS match against Montreal CF, which ended in a 4-4 draw. Munteanu opened the scoring in the 9th minute, taking advantage of an error by the opposing goalkeeper after a powerful free kick. Although DC United led 2-1 at halftime, the team finished the match in a draw, occupying 9th place in the Eastern Conference after 15 rounds. His good form comes less than two weeks before the friendly matches of the Romanian national team, against Georgia on June 2 and Wales on June 6, for which Munteanu has been called up by coach Gheorghe Hagi.
