After the Australian Grand Prix, Lando Norris gave a critical speech regarding the new regulations in Formula 1, which will come into effect in the 2026 season. Although he initially did not oppose these changes, Norris raised an alarm about the risks associated with overtaking under the conditions where drivers must use an engine that operates 50% on electric power and 50% on internal combustion. The new "lifting and coasting" technique forces drivers to lift their foot off the accelerator before corners, which reduces brake usage. Norris believes that this approach could increase the risk of collisions at high speeds, as brakes are not used sufficiently.
