Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, provided details about Lamine Yamal's absence from the Spanish national team, explaining that the club immediately informed the RFEF about the player's need for 10 days of rest after a medical treatment. This led to Yamal's withdrawal from the last qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup. Laporta emphasized that he respects all parties involved and that the club's priority is the health of the players.

He also praised Yamal's maturity and commitment to Barcelona, considering him an exceptional player. In another vein, rumors have circulated about Yamal's breakup with the singer Nicki Nicole, but she denied infidelity, clarifying that the split was not caused by such reasons.
