Jannik Sinner qualified for the final of the tournament in Rome, setting a new record

The Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, the world number one, has qualified for the final of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Rome, after a difficult victory against the Russian Daniil Medvedev, the ATP number 9, with 6-2, 5-7, 6-4.

The match was interrupted by rain on Friday evening when Sinner was leading 4-2 in the deciding set, and it was resumed on Saturday. Sinner achieved his 28th consecutive victory on the ATP circuit and his 33rd at ATP Masters 1,000 tournaments, an important record.

Sinner has the chance to become the first Italian winner of the Italian Open for men since 1976 and to claim his 29th career title. In the final, he will face the Norwegian Casper Ruud, who defeated Luciano Darderi in the semifinals.
